Ontario Product Specialist

Due to a recent promotion of the Ontario Region’s Makita Product Specialist, we are currently in the process of receiving and interviewing applicants for this position.
The person we seek must be a highly motivated and organized individual capable of working independently in support of the Ontario sales team. Responsibilities for the job will include introducing Makita products to end-users and organizations in support of our extensive dealer network throughout Ontario. In addition to the demonstration aspect of the position, the Product Specialist assists in product training, special marketing events and participation at other shows and demonstrations as requested by regional sales staff and approved by the Regional Manager.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of 2 years’ successful sales experience in a wholesale or retail environment; knowledge of the power tool industry; and knowledge of the “inner workings” of power tools. Knowledge of the Ontario region would be a definite asset. A post-secondary education and expertise in a recognized trade or the construction industry would be beneficial. You must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s licence for the operation of the demo truck and trailer. Extensive travel throughout Ontario is expected (including weekends), with frequent overnight travel (two to three days per week).
