What will you do?  

The Service Center Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support the growth and development to Technicians and is responsible for the daily operations of the Service Centre. The Manager has oversight for the completion of all Service Technician tasks, duties, and responsibilities in a timely, accurate, complete, and thorough basis. As well, you will support the sale of accessories, and parts, and answer general product questions.

What will you work on?

  • Lead, mentor, and coach store employees daily.
  • Ensure all Service Technicians are trained to repair our product/equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.
  • Oversee and assess FSC employees’ activities and providing them with regular performance-related feedback.
  • Repair customer tools/products when necessary.
  • Handle major incidents that cannot be resolved by Service Technician.
  • Work with management on customer service initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation pertaining to customer sales and work orders.
  • Provide support to other Service Centers and other Makita departments as required.
  • Maintain cash and account balances on hand as well as branch banking when required.
  • Perform other job-related duties/projects as assigned

To be successful you will have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  
  • Degree or Diploma in Business or a related field would be an asset. 
  • A minimum of five (5) years supervising or managing staff in a related field. 
  • Knowledge and experience with the use of and repairing electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.  
  • Communication: Fluent in English, excellent communication (oral and written) with a professional demeanor. 
  • Technical comprehension: ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  
  • Organization: able to plan and set priorities for the FSC’s workload. Create and keep deadlines. 
  • Leadership: ability to make decisions, lead, and coach employees. Working in a team environment. 
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving an asset. 
  • Experience in the use of computer software (Microsoft software suite).
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment, with the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time, also includes a lot of reaching, lifting, pushing/pulling, bending, and twisting.

Range:

  • $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
