Hazard: The automatic chain brake does not easily engage when the saw kicks back possibly exposing the user to contact with the chain while it is still moving, posing a laceration hazard. As of July 4, 2018, the company has received no report of incident or injury in Canada.

Recalled Product: Makita products DCS6421-PH, DCS6421-20, DCS7301-PH, DCS7301-20, EA7300PRFE, EA7300P50E, DCS7901-PH and Dolmar products PS6400, PS7300, PS7310, PS7900, PS7910 manufactured before June 1, 2018. The affected products were sold in Canada from April 2002 to June 2018.

Return: Consumers should stop using these chainsaws, and take the saw to the nearest Makita Canada Factory Service Centre to have the saw examined and repaired free of charge.
