Job Summary:  

As a Technician in our Factory Service Centre’s you are key to our after-sales service. You are responsible for assisting customers with repairs of our products/equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools, supporting the sale of accessories, and parts, as well as answering general product questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service to our clients/dealers and the public.
  • Visually inspecting and testing products/equipment.
  • Dismantling products/equipment and repairing within Makita Canada Inc. standards.
  • Troubleshooting and identifying malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.
  • Assemble and test tools to ensure proper performance levels.
  • Notify customers, via phone and email, of repair estimate, completed repairs and orders ready for pick up.
  • Ensures the appropriate service levels are maintained in the Factory Service Centre’s.
  • Maintaining inventory of parts and accessories.
  • Ensuring the Factory Service Centre is professional, clean, and organized consistent with the Makita brand image.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of related experience repairing tools/equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience repairing electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with the use of electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to be able to prioritize your work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving an asset.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment, with the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time, also includes a lot of reaching, lifting, pushing/pulling, bending, and twisting.

Staring Salary: $17.00 per hour

As an Assistant Manager in our Factory Service Centre’s you are responsible for supporting the manager with the daily operations and managing the Factory Service Centre in the absence of the Manger.  Your responsibilities also include assisting customers with repairs of our products/equipment, including electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools, supporting the sale of accessories, and parts, and answering general product questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service to our clients/dealers and the public, including assisting with de-escalating difficult situations.
  • Assist in the training of FSC Technicians.
  • Visually inspecting and testing products/equipment.
  • Dismantling products/equipment and repairing within Makita Canada Inc. standards.
  • Troubleshooting and identifying malfunctioning or inoperative equipment and assisting other technicians when they are having difficulties.
  • Assemble and test tools to ensure proper performance levels.
  • Notify customers, via phone and email, of repair estimate, completed repairs and orders ready for pick up.
  • Ensures the appropriate service levels are maintained in the Factory Service Centre’s.
  • Shipping and receiving of goods.
  • Maintaining inventory of parts and accessories.
  • Maintaining cash and account balances on hand as well as the ability to do branch banking when required.
  • Ensuring the Factory Service Centre is professional, clean, and organized consistent with the Makita brand image.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) year of related experience repairing tools/equipment.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and in writing, ensuring you are clear and concise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to develop good working relationships with our customers and Makita staff in the FSC and across the country.
  • Knowledge and experience repairing electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with the use of electric (both AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools.
  • Ability to read, interpret and explain documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and service/repair manuals.
  • Experience shipping and receiving goods via courier services.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to assist the manager in prioritizing the FSC’s workload.
  • Ability to lead and work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving an asset.

As an Assistant in our Factory Service Centre you are responsible for the front counter customer service including; sales of accessories and parts, answering customer inquiries, receiving power tools for repair, providing information to customers concerning the diagnosis, cost estimates (as required) and shipping various Makita power tools and equipment.  You will be responsible for ensuring that the showroom is maintained in a safe, orderly, and clean manner, providing administrative support, and assisting with reports in accordance with company standards. 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service to our clients/dealers and the public.
  • Processing invoices for sale of products and repairs.
  • Supporting the Service Centre with their administrative tasks and reports.
  • Notifying customers, via phone and email, of repair estimate, completed repairs and orders ready for pick up.
  • Ensures the appropriate service levels are maintained in the Factory Service Centre’s.
  • Maintaining inventory levels for parts and accessories.
  • Ensuring the Factory Service Centre is clean and organized consistent with the Makita brand image.
  • Shipping and receiving goods; both internal and customer items.
  • Performing other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of customer service experience.
  • Experience using computer software (Microsoft Suite).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to be able to prioritize your work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, shipping and receiving via courier service an asset.
  • Familiarity with electric (AC & DC), pneumatic and gasoline-powered tools an asset.
